Bible Reading Plan

One moment in the presence of Jesus changes everything. At Life Chapel, we believe in encountering God through His Word and being transformed by His truth. Our Bible reading plan helps adults and kids grow spiritually together. Whether you’re just starting your journey or have been walking with Christ for years, join us as we seek God, learn His Word, and become more like Him.

What is SOAP?
SOAP is a simple method to help you engage with scripture:
  • S – Scripture: Read the day’s passage and write down a verse or two that stands out.
  • O – Observation: What do you notice? Focus on key words, repeated themes, or what the passage reveals about God.
  • A – Application: How can you align your life with what God is showing you in the passage?
  • P – Prayer: Respond to God in prayer, asking Him to help you live out what you’ve learned.

Encouragement for Your Journey
It’s okay if you don’t understand every passage right away. Trust that God will reveal Himself over time. Pray for insight, and seek guidance if needed. Keep seeking God—He is faithful to guide you.

One moment in the presence of Jesus changes everything. At Life Chapel, we believe in encountering God through His Word and being transformed by His truth. Our Bible reading plan is designed to help you grow spiritually, whether you’re just beginning your faith journey or have been walking with Christ for years. We use the SOAP method to study scripture, with selected readings for both adults and kids to follow together. This creates a unique opportunity for our church family to grow in unity and purpose as we point people to life in Christ. Wherever you are in life, we invite you to join us on this journey of seeking God, learning His Word, and becoming more like Him.

Scripture

Open your Bible to the assigned reading for the day, or choose a passage if you're doing your own study. As you read, pay attention to verses or phrases that stand out. Write them down, circle key words, and underline anything that speaks to you.

Observation

Reflect on the scripture. Ask yourself, “What is God saying through this passage?” Consider the context and meaning of the text. Take note of any repeated words or key themes that stand out. Write down your thoughts and insights.

Application

Think about how this scripture applies to your life, but also what it reveals about God’s character or His plans. Ask yourself, “What is my next step in response to this passage?” This might be an action to take, something to learn, or a deeper understanding of who God is.

Prayer

Write a prayer based on what you've learned. Ask God to help you live out the truth of His Word, or to grow in understanding of what He's teaching you through this passage. Take time to listen as you pray, knowing that God desires to speak with you as well.
Encouragement for Your Journey
It’s okay if you don’t fully understand a passage. The Bible is God-breathed, inspired, and without contradictions. Trust that God will reveal Himself to you over time. Pray for understanding and seek guidance from a mentor or someone you trust if needed. Often, answers come through prayer or other parts of Scripture. Keep seeking God—He is faithful to guide you.
